Yesterday I was driving, it was around 10:30 am I believe, and I just happened to be in one of those "I'm going to drive really slow because I am in absolutely no hurry to get where I'm going" type of moods. On my way from point A to point B I decided to take a few detours through some unfamiliar neighborhoods. As I cruised through the residential streets littered with dead leaves, I became increasingly less focused on the road, my steering wheel, and my speedometer. The sun was bright and shown through the trees in a way that seemed almost unreal. The light illuminated every dyeing leaf and vividly displayed the brightness of the orange, yellow, red, and green pigments. A few of the oak trees rustled as a breeze came through and pulled the leaves away from their branches. At a dead stop in the middle of the road I starred in amazement at the trees in front of and above me and admired the natural beauty in the events taking place right before my eyes. I felt overwhelmed by the power of nature, its omnipresence, and dominance over everything in our lives, from the birth of a child to the death of a single leaf.
I believe in the beauty of nature. I believe that everything, no matter how large or small posses a certain splendor, and it is up to the individual to see these things for what they are; beautiful.
