When I think of an everyday heroes, the people that come to mind are those that have shaped me in a positive way, those people that are selfless, those people that are not looking for recognition. In my life, I have been blessed by being able to encounter many of the types of people. The main person that stands out to me, however is my dad.
My dad is man that has shown me how much of a difference that a positive attitude can make. As a child, he constantly threw phrases on me like, "Kill them with kindness", or "Attitude is the key to life". At the time, I payed little attention to these words of wisdom, but as I grew and matured, I began to see them mirrored in his life. Attitude is the key to life really, and I see that when through the toughest situations, my father has kept his chin up, staying positive. Not only did it help him to look on the bright side, but all of those around him.
Along with the positivity of my everyday hero comes the selflessness. So many times I see my dad going out of his way to do things for others, most of the time without being asked. So many mornings I have woken up to find my car washed and filled with gas, only to find out that the same has been done for my grandparents. An everyday hero doesn't do these things for recognition either, rather just because of the way they are.I can only strive to be so much of an everyday hero in my own life.
