Law Vs. Morality

In Antigone the main character is faced with the decision to either leave her brothers corpse to rot in the dessert or bury him against the law. Antigone decides to bury her brother, the first time she is not caught but he is unburied. Then when she goes back a second time she to re-bury her brother she is caught and taken in. I agree with Antigone's actions because her brother should have the right to be buried an openly mourned. It would be horrible to leave a loved one to rot out in the dessert with birds picking at their corpse. For Antigone it was also a religious matter to bury her brother so that his spirit would be able to be at rest and he would be able to pay the ferryman. She should have been more careful the second time burying him though so that she was not caught instead of just going out into the open and burying him while the guards were watching.

Many times in history people have had to break the laws to make an area progress over time. Many religions over the years have been banned in areas or subjected to horrible fates for practicing them. Rosa Parks sitting at the front of the bus would be a example of breaking the rules for a moral reason or civil rights. Sometime the rules need to be broken so that people can progress in life.
